Probably not a whole lot of need for a jacket like that in Florida where they retired to.  I doubt it ever left Long Island.  Probably donated to Goodwill or Salvation Army before moving, and someone picked it up.  The Edna obituary at least gives you his full middle name of "John" and surviving family members.
