Okie96 Posted July 5, 2018 Share #1 Posted July 5, 2018 Anyone have any info on what will be at this years Airventure besides what is stated on EAA's website? I see there is supposed to be a good lineup this year and they make a general claim that it is shaping up to be a "banner year" for fighters. Their having a special emphasis on early jets and WWI aviation. Can't find much for info from different organization websites on whether or not they are sending aircraft there, ex. P-38, P-47. Would like to see an SBD and the CAF's SBD-5 was suppose to show but did not due to an oil leak. I'm not seeing EAA and the SBD listed as lining up although the CAF helldiver will be giving rides. Hopefully it will show up at the actual show for viewing. I am looking forward to seeing the XP-82 which is supposed to be there and others but there is always other aircraft you hope will be there as well. The Airventure's page showed a Lancaster in the featured pictures but no details as to whether one would show up. By the way, does anyone know what the deal is with Diamond Lil' and Witchcraft. Diamond Lil' is coming to Janesville and that is it for WI and Witchcraft is only coming as close as Chicago and in the three or four times I've been to EAA neither have been there. Are they scared of this state or what's the deal? It does not look like the Collings Foundation sends anything to WI. Aaauuughhh. Still waiting to see an SBD, B-24 and Lancaster in person among others but should be great fun if they don't show. After all that, anyone else planning on going? Okie96 Posted July 5, 2018 Author Share #5 Posted July 5, 2018 That's All Brother! as of last EAA. Did not know they got it up in January. Guess they are just about done with the restoration now. If anyone wants more pictures of last year let me know or if you have your own share.
