Costa Posted July 5, 2018 Share #1 Posted July 5, 2018 I have seen this on a pre war wing and deem it strange that the meyer metal is in center rather then at the top of the wing. were wings hallmarked this way?

Allan H. Posted July 5, 2018 Share #3 Posted July 5, 2018 Mitch, This marking doesn't bother me one bit. I like it! It appears to be a pre-war example. Allan

The Rooster Posted July 6, 2018 Share #5 Posted July 6, 2018 Greetings Costa. Ive seen a pair of these here.. http://www.militaryaviationartifacts.com/wings.htm down towards the bottom in the Navy Pilots section, there are a pair just like these you have here. You'll see em. They are however different than the ones you have shown as these have raised hallmarks in the center. And the 1/20th gold mark stamped in. I have a small Meyer Metal Marked wing and the gold is mostly flaked off kind of like the pic you posted on the back. I read the Meyer Metal was their proprietary brand of Metal???
