Dave,

I'm not sure if this is a Disney cartoon character, or not...

One of the members of the boat must of had a brother or something in the AAC. The badge is almost identical to the 96th Fighter Squadron (now the 96th FTS).

Not a Disney design, but, Disney artists did create insignia for 6 or 7 pt boats, as well as the one for the "Mosquito Fleet" that shows a mosquito with tar hat riding a just-launched torpedo across the waves.

I own the original pencil art for PT Squadron 36.

This emblem is a USAAF design for the 96th Fighter Squadron of the 82nd Fighter Group, I don't think it was a Disney design.

Note that this emblem has been somewhat modified from the 96th emblem, the 96th had a cactus and the rabbit was wearing boxing gloves, the PT emblem has the rabbit carrying bombs in each hand and the cactus is not carried.
