Tonomachi Posted June 28, 2018 Share #1 Posted June 28, 2018 This chenille patch is 8 inches in diameter. It can't be from WW2 because I looked up the cartoon character Hot Stuff which did not come out until October of 1957 through Harvey Comics. However the Hot Stuff character seems to have been a popular tattoo choice for members of the USN. Is this even a military patch or maybe a patch for a civilian scuba or skin diving club. Anyone recognize this patch?

Tonomachi Posted June 28, 2018 Author Share #5 Posted June 28, 2018 No I didn't buy it but it was pulled because the owner was going to do some more research before relisting it after my inquires about provenance concerning the listed identification of this patch which I felt was wrong. I too felt it was probably a civilian scuba or skin diving club type patch but you never know so I decided to post it on the forum on the off chance someone might recognize it. The diver down flag has been used on novelty USN patches before but coupled with the speargun I felt it had to be a civilian diver club type patch.
