P-59A Posted June 24, 2018 Share #1 Posted June 24, 2018 Every one of these Air Raid Wardens helmets I have seen on line is white. The inside is marked in white paint 14-19-4-4 and the brim is stamped LACO E23. I assume this would be L.A. County. This is a thin stamped steel with O.D. paint. I have read these were used by Merchant Marines and maybe pre war Army training helmets. Maybe diverted to Civil Defense early in the war? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
