JasonT Posted June 23, 2018 Share #1 Posted June 23, 2018 Hello, I recently picked up this postwar 100th ID patch off of Ebay. I typically don't get postwar items but couldn't resist this one since I hadn't seen one before and thought it would look good displayed with my other 100th items. My question is what exactly were these made for? Just a regular novelty item or something for vets? The patch measures 6.5" and the back is rather stiff, almost like plastic. 12A54 Posted June 23, 2018 Share #3 Posted June 23, 2018 I’ve seen large patches like this sewn onto the back of shooting jackets worn by unit competition teams.

Wake1941 Posted June 23, 2018 Share #5 Posted June 23, 2018 This was listed on my eBay, glad to see it wet to a good home. I believe it may have been for some sort of shooting event or simply an older veterans association type patch

I think I may have gotten a few other patches from you over the last few years and each transaction has been flawless, thanks again!
JasonT Posted June 24, 2018 Author Share #9 Posted June 24, 2018 Thanks Salvage Sailor for sharing your 187th patch, I haven't seen too many of these of any unit in the short time I've been collecting.
Allan H. Posted June 24, 2018 Share #10 Posted June 24, 2018 THere used to be a guy who went to the larger militaria shows who sold these oversized patches. He would even make them if he didn't have the patch you wanted in stock. Most of the patches that he offered were oversized 101st, 82nd, and Special Forces. I would guess that this dealer is the source of these patches. Allan
