pozieres Posted June 18, 2018 Share #1 Posted June 18, 2018 I'm looking for information about a man who served in WW2 by the name of George R. Betchik, service number 26070703, who served in New Guinea. I've done an internet search but have so far come up empty. Any help would be very much appreciated. Cheers, Poz
Bob Hudson Posted June 18, 2018 Share #2 Posted June 18, 2018 I checked several subscription data bases and nothing. There are very Betchick at all and none nzamed George. I wonder if the spelling of the last name was changed at some point?
aznation Posted June 19, 2018 Share #3 Posted June 19, 2018 Found a George Batchik and a George Botchick, both born in Ohio, but none spelled Betchick. Also, checked on Fold3 and WII Enlistment records with serial number and nothing.
USMCR79 Posted June 19, 2018 Share #4 Posted June 19, 2018 The 2 on his service number would indicate a 1940 Federalized National Guardsman - so finding an enlistment record may be difficult Can you recheck the spelling of the last name Bill
