tigerfan Posted June 14, 2018 Share #1 Posted June 14, 2018 Just acquired yesterday from a local veterans estate is this WWII camo helmet. It wasn't easy taking photos of the shell as most photos came out dark. Took some photos using the flash. I am posting the ones where you can see the brighter green paint. Still looks better in person.
tigerfan Posted June 14, 2018 Author Share #2 Posted June 14, 2018 Also camo painted the liner.

tigerfan Posted June 14, 2018 Author Share #4 Posted June 14, 2018 Along with the helmet I got his WWII uniform. He was in the 36th division ordnance. So I would assume this is a MTO camo paint.

36thIDAlex Posted June 14, 2018 Share #6 Posted June 14, 2018 What a fantastic helmet, and ID to a 36th vet as well! Great find, this is a one of a kind piece. Haven't seen any photos of this helmet style used in the division but there are always exceptional exceptions! Congrats Alex PS. Do you mind if we see that uniform as well? tigerfan Posted June 15, 2018 Author Share #13 Posted June 15, 2018 cool looking. any name on it? There is no name physically on the helmet but I do have a solid ID to the veteran that it belonged to.
stealthytyler Posted June 15, 2018 Share #14 Posted June 15, 2018 Any way you can ask if this was worn overseas? The 36th did a lot of fighting. I would expect more wear especially on top of the shell.
tigerfan Posted June 15, 2018 Author Share #15 Posted June 15, 2018 Yes, this is the helmet he came home with and I am under the impression from family that he didn't see a lot of "combat". Especially if he was in an ordnance regt. - bn - company - etc.
