jiro90 Posted June 5, 2018 Share #1 Posted June 5, 2018 I owned a number of 1918s, but havent seen one with what appears to be painted scabbard or high polish bluing. Anyone else come across one of these.

militariaone Posted June 5, 2018 Share #3 Posted June 5, 2018 Greetings, The scabbard is definitely a repro. Please see post #85 http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/196382-m1918-mk-i-trench-knife-comparing-originals-to-your-suspect-knife-thread/page-4 for a comparison. As stated above, need to see the blade to provide an opinion. V/r Lance
cwnorma Posted June 7, 2018 Share #4 Posted June 7, 2018 ...and as predicted last December, these repro scabbards are now being sold mated to original knives. Caveat emptor! Additionally, you no longer have to buy the entire knife and scabbard combo from Atlanta Cutlery Co. Currently $44.95 on IMA: https://www.ima-usa.com/products/u-s-wwi-mark-i-trench-knife-steel-scabbard-marked-lf-c-1918 Chris
