warpath Posted June 3, 2018 Author Share #2 Posted June 3, 2018 Battle of the Bulge DUG Relics recovered by a friend years ago in battle positions in the Battle of Hürtgen Forest. German grenades and the larger head is from a WW1 battlefield, the rest were dug in the forest area.

David D Posted June 3, 2018 Share #6 Posted June 3, 2018 I’m confused battle of the bulge relics dug in the hurtgen? That was 2 separate battles as far as I’m aware
warpath Posted June 3, 2018 Author Share #7 Posted June 3, 2018 Both places were dug, but most of these were from the Battle of Hürtgen Forest...I'll separate the pieces later by specific areas found.
Government Issue Posted June 3, 2018 Share #8 Posted June 3, 2018 The hürtgenwald was a dreadfully awful place to be. There were a lot of horrific small engagements in that forest and the accompanying towns. Years after the battle, the local communities constantly lost people to land mines and unexploded ordnance. There's still a ton of unaccounted for landmines out there. Ed, is that a grease gun magazine up top above the loaded enbloc?
US Military Guy Posted June 3, 2018 Share #9 Posted June 3, 2018 It appears some of the .30-06 ammunition has been demilled, but some has not - including the .50 tracer?
