This EGA is on a British made overseas cap, and I'm unsure if period and original to cap. Can anyone help with this? Thanks in advance.

Hey Chris, that is one of the prevalent patterns from before the war. Is there a "shadow" behind the emblem and does the layer fabric behind the flap the EGA is on show wear from the post? Any corrosion stains behind the EGA or around the hole?

Jeremiah, thanks for your response/ Is this the same regulation ega used on the 12/17 visor cap? Not sure about oxidation behind ega, as I'm not the owner, but thinking about it.

As mentioned, it is a pre-WWI EGA, and not the pattern most commonly found on the Helmet, Overseas Cover, Campaign Hat, or Winter Service Bellcrown of the WWI era enlisted Marine. Could it be original to this cover, maybe; anything is possible. However; I would vote, "No".
