world war I nerd Posted May 31, 2018 Share #14 Posted May 31, 2018 Nice group of "Wildcat" images. I wonder hat the significance is of the basket (an unusual prop for a photo) held by the Doughboy who's also holding a French flag? Also the Doughboys in post's No. 5 & 6 look to be wearing "square toed" British issue field shoes.

kwc271 Posted June 11, 2018 Share #16 Posted June 11, 2018 I have a tunic from the 81st division, wish I had one of those pics haha. The 81st did some training here in my county of Greenville,SC at camp Sevier
AnDuc49 Posted December 31, 2018 Share #17 Posted December 31, 2018 Do any of those photos happen to have any names? I recently picked up a diary kept by a soldier from the 81st and it'd be kinda neat if one of the pics corresponded to someone pictured here
trenchfighter Posted July 13, 2019 Share #18 Posted July 13, 2019 Enjoyed looking through the WWI 81st Div pictures. They are one of the WWI units that I collect, but overtime, getting more difficult to come across. I also have family from the Greenville, SC area where both the 81st and 30th Divisions trained at Camp Sevier prior to going overseas.
