blinky Posted May 29, 2018 Share #1 Posted May 29, 2018 I"m stumped, I'm sure they are something simple but I haven't been able to find them. I just purchased a trunk with three WWI US gas masks that have been sitting in a barn for at least several decades. One of the bags was for a British SBR mask and as I was shaking the dirt, rust and dead bugs out these came out as well. Thank you in advance!Eric
doyler Posted May 29, 2018 Share #2 Posted May 29, 2018 Remind me of 82nd Infantry Div that were not finished with the AA
blinky Posted May 29, 2018 Author Share #3 Posted May 29, 2018 Yes, thank you! I found a couple of examples in tarbridge's collection in this link:http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/248686-82nd-patch-1930s/ It's the first time I've seen one without the AA. blinky Posted May 30, 2018 Author Share #5 Posted May 30, 2018 You're probably right. I'm thinking they've been in the carrier since the war. At least maybe I got something nice for my $34!

Found a bullion 33rd Div patch in a gasmask bag years ago.
mortaydc60 Posted May 31, 2018 Share #7 Posted May 31, 2018 Yes they are 82nd Div and some say the first version of the patch and made that way on purpose and were not incompletely made or missing the AA letters.
