1st Ranger Battalion scrapbook

This scrapbook took a round about way to get to us, but eventually got to the museum this afternoon....it was compiled by Sergeant William T. P a r s o n s. I found a roster of the original Rangers who trained in the UK and his name is on it. It came with a couple modern patches:

The album has seen better days but it's still go some great content...the lower right corner has his name and looks like the dates 1942-45 but it's so worn I can't tell...note how he wrote the Ranger's battles all over the cover.

The first page has the Citation for their first battle in 1943...note how the locations have been censored...there's also a neat V-mail too...

...and a Ranger newsletter..among the topics are getting the extra $10 in pay if you have the CIB, and the rumors that the Ranger wear some kind of glitzy uniform...
