Korean-made patch for a tour/souvenir jacket?

Here's a piece I've been wondering about and want to see if anyone here has any ideas about it. This particular patch is on twill, has a gauzy backing, and is about 10 inches long. Because of all of this, I'm thinking it might be Korean made and produced for a souvenir jacket in 1977.

Has anyone else seen anything like this?

Looks more Philippine made then Korean. This design you see on a lot of USMC tour jackets.

Actually, the two U's make it an 'oriental' patch with typical misspellings.........

The design of this patch is that of a tattoo that was very prevalent in the late 60's & early 70's among G.I.'s

Wanted to wait to post the other half of my reply till I talked with an old Marine friend of mine.

The tattoo was primarily a Marine tattoo (back in the day) but was later adopted by members of other Branches.

He told me that he and his Marine buds always got a tickle out of seeing someone from a different branch sporting the tattoo because as he pointed out to me, you can spell out SEMPER FI with the design.
