anelles Posted May 18, 2018 Share #1 Posted May 18, 2018 Just picked this up this week, I don't know much about M1 bayonets. Is this a WW2 wartime model? Any idea on rough date? Thanks.

Misfit 45 Posted May 19, 2018 Share #5 Posted May 19, 2018 One thing interesting about UC M1 bayonets is the way they ground the blade. On the blade, about two inches from the tip, it looks like they used a belt sander across the blade, perpendicular to the blade edge. In the past, when I saw a grind like that, I would think that someone had tried to smooth out some irregularity. Nope, that's just the way they did it. I don't recall seeing that with any other manufacturer. Marv
