Capt.Confederacy Posted May 2, 2018 Share #1 Posted May 2, 2018 I recently acquired this piece and thought I'd share it here. It supposedly was done by an airman, and I'm guessing it was done in the 1950's judging by the uniform the bomb rider is wearing.. As to what it was supposed to be, I don't know. Perhaps it was something the guy did for himself only as an art project or perhaps he did several of them for his immediate circle of USAF friends. It's about the size of a squadron patch. I do find it interesting and hope you all do too.
Bluehawk Posted May 3, 2018 Share #2 Posted May 3, 2018 That IS a nice piece! The possible significance of those snow-peaked mountains is intriguing, in terms of the gunner riding a bomb imagery... as to where in the world it might have been? Too, I wonder if any of our fabric/textile/uniform/cloth gear experts here might be able to ID that fabric? Cut out of something, a shirt, or what?
