Marksman Posted April 30, 2018 Share #1 Posted April 30, 2018 Hello all, found this Hayward Sterling EOD Badge. Looks like one of the earlier versions of those badges. Still wonder where alphanumeric code and/or the GI marking are.

Billyh Posted March 5 Share #4 Posted March 5 This is my Hayward Sterling Senior EOD badge. I have no idea when it dates from/to. I'm no expert, but from what I have seen of sterling badges not all have hallmarks on them, and some don't even have a makers name on them. Tonomachi Posted March 5 Share #5 Posted March 5 My guess would be mid to late 1960s. There is an earlier pin back version of this badge in basic with the same hallmark (photo 1 & 2). Since these badges were authorized in 1957 my guess is that the pin back version is from the late 1950s and early 1960s. There is also a later produced badge with the added hallmark of G-I (Photos 3 & 4). I believe this one was produced sometime after your badge.
