I have a collection of over 150 photos from the estate of Lt. Col. David L. McAbee. He was Radar Operator/Navigator in the 414th, Night Fighter Squadron in WW2. They originally flew the British Bristol Beaufighter out of England before changing to the P=61 Black Widow when stationed in Italy. Here are a couple photos of the Bristol Beaufighter in flight from that collection.

Great pix! In the second post, what sort of paint scheme is on that Beaufighter? Is it the standard Brit green/earth colors?

Thanks for sharing.

Here are a couple more photos of the Beaufighter from the collection. The photos are black & white, so I have no idea of the color scheme. Most of the aircraft photos in the collection are nose art shots of the P-61.

These Beaufighters were painted in a RAF Dark Green/Ocean Grey scheme.
