A member posted this on the Facebook page and said he found it in an antique store in New York. He didnt have the funds for it for himself but he kindly picked it up for me.

The group consists of a 1969 dated jungle jacket with US Army and a name tape that I cant make out. It looks more like initials than a name.

The left chest pocket has what i believe is a theatre made American flag, and the right has a patch with a hand making a peace sign and Viet Nam 1971. The spec5 collar rank looks theatre made as well.

The boonie has a peace sign scribbled in pen and fraying all across the loops. The tag inside is partially torn.

The head/hat band is very nice and says VIETWARNAM. It looks similar to many Ive seen in period pics, but I dont know much about them.

My favorite part is the well worn boots which are stiff and dirty. There is a zipper laced into the boots and it looks like a metal shank in the sole. They have a seam on the rear and are Genesco size 11r.

I would appreciate any comments on authenticity or thoughts. I imagine the jungle jacket was worn by a vet after he came home. I was wondering if the boonie is a stateside purchase as well, or something that could/would have been worn in Vietnam.

Thanks for looking!

These theater made Spec 5's are fantastic, don't see these types often, whether on a uniform still or removed and loose.

The name on the tape is actually one of the most common Polish surnames. No idea why its spaced like that, but my first thought when I saw it on FB was that it belonged to a Polish-American.

Thanks patches, I thought the rank was cool too.

Thanks Jguy, initially I didnt think it was a name because of the spacing. I tried to do some research on this and found a lot of Jewish Veterans with the name.

Pretty odd. Maybe it was made stateside off base somewhere as pocket patches were most likely added after the vet got out.
