This isn't much, but it's to one guy. Lt. Richard W. Hansen, s/n O-1648238. I have found nothing on him. I noticed the marking on the foot locker, musette and duffel bag are all the same. What do they mean?... My foto's are too large and I will have to redo them. The mark in question is the "OM-BOGO-GO /A/ " Thet mark is on everything. What is it?

WACs Needed for Confidential Signal Corps Work: A new need for WACs to serve in positions of the highest confidential nature have been announced by Lt. Richard W. Hansen of the Army Signal Corps. Women recruited for these specific positions, Lt. Hansen said, will be assigned to duty at Arlington Hall, Virginia, immediately upon completion of their basic WAC training, and they will remain at that same post for the duration of the war. Lt. Hansen will be at the WAC recruiting office in Rockford, Rm. US. Post Office bldg. on Thursday and Friday, June 29 and 30. Lt. Hansen said, 'This is an excellent time for us to see how tremendously important it is for women as well as men to operate with the utmost secrecy. The first waves of the European invasion could not have been accomplished if there had not been complete trustworthiness on the part of everyone who knew the plans in advance. It should be pointed out now that General Eisenhower's secretary is a member of the Women's Army Corps." Lt. Hansen said, '"The nature of the work these women will do is so confidential that we may not even announce details about their duties. Because of the nature of the work, however, it is obvious that we can accept only women whose accords will stand the most careful scrutiny of Army intelligence. "We require a minimum of two years of high school for all WACs who will be assigned to the Signal Corps. Additional schooling, particularly in mathematics, languages, mechanics and research will be helpful, but it is not essential. Naturally, only women who possess a high degree of intelligence can be accepted for these assignments. But above all other qualifications, we must plao personal integrity, loyalty and un impeachable character. "Both schooling and professional or business experience will be determining factors in the acceptability of applicants for these Signal Corps jobs. Signal Corps officers in all cases, will make the final acceptance of applicants. - "Special training courses provided by the Signal Corps for WACs accepted for these confidential positions. The training periods will vary in length, depending upon the individual assignments. "Those women who successfully complete their applications and are accepted and assigned to Arlington Hall will have every opportunity to advance to non-commissioned officer ratings. Eligi- bility for appointment to Officer Candidate schools will apply as it does in all other branches of the Application for enlistment in the WAC and appointment to these Signal Corps assignments may be made at any WAC recruiting office, where preliminary details may be secured. At recruiting offices, appointments will be made for additional interview with Signal Corps officers who are conducting this recruiting campaign.
