Today's NY Times has a good story on the hunt for Marine PFC Herman Mulligan who was killed on Okinawa in 1945. Some dogged work by civilians finally pushed the Defense POW MIA Accounting Agency to make the proper identification of this Marine whose family had been told he was missing for 70 years.
