Been offered this Bayonet and really like the used look of it, its a Tanto cut 1913 rock island blade.

The grips are for a Springfield I believe on a garand handle.

Whats your thoughts on this one, its up at $145

ArchangeIDM- It;s a Rock Island Arsenal M1905 bayonet that was cut down from 16" blade to 10" during WW2, by "AFH" (American Fork & Hoe". The blade was cut into a Bowie, or Beak point due to the thinness of the fuller/blood groove being too thin for a spear point. These points tended to break on the older Springfield or Rock Island shortened bayonets. As far as the price of $145, that would be about as high as I might go. Try to negotiate, and see if the seller will go lower. The worst thing they can say is "no". Good luck! SKIP

Condition is normal for a 75 yr old used bayonet. Didn't notice anything wrong with it. SKIP

Perfect -

Thanks Skip, nice to have your input

Thanks again

American FORK & Hoe.

I like it too. Those composite grips might have been part of the process when it was shortened?

I had a problem with auto correct recently when I could not spell provenance Tool when describing a sword. I'm expecting this will change when I press post.
