COOKIEMAN Posted April 11, 2018 Share #1 Posted April 11, 2018 I recently purchased a Spanish American War / Philippine Campaign medal, photo and document group. The recipient is Schuyler Colfax Brewster. He served with the 20th Kansas Infantry Regiment, U.S. Volunteers. During WW1 he served with the American Field Service. This is confirmed by his WW1 period passport application and passport. Brewster graduated from both University of Kansas and Harvard. Born 13 August 1868, died 15 February 1930. Any info he transferred / joined the US Army while in France? I would like to know more about his life and career. Also, would Brewster have qualified for any French Medals. Also, any chance he qualified for the US Victory Medal. Two pictures are attached. One is his original passport picture, the other is a picture of AFS/YMCA personnel, some where in France. Brewster is on the left. Thanks for any help you can provide.
mccooper Posted April 12, 2018 Share #2 Posted April 12, 2018 Would suggest checking in with the AFS Archives in NYC. They have good records of AFS volunteers, and are very cooperative. Nice acquisition - very much look forward to what you learn! All the best, mccooper
