Aloha Everyone,

 

This is a USN reference topic for patches manufactured during the 1960's by Beta Royal Sales Co., Inc. New York, NY for ships and stations of the United States Navy

 

Please post any examples you may have in the original packaging (carded) along with a loose patch if you have one.

 

USS JOSEPH K. TAUSSIG (DE-1030) Dealey class Destroyer Escort in service 1957 to 1972. This interim class of DE's had a short service life due to mechanical and other design problems.

USCGC SOUTHWIND (WAGB-280) Wind class Icebreaker in Coast Guard Service 1943 to 1945 and again from 1955 to 1974

 

USCGC Southwind (WAGB-280) was a Wind-class icebreaker that served in the United States Coast Guard as USCGC Southwind (WAG-280), the Soviet Navy as the Admiral Makarov, the United States Navy as USS Atka (AGB-3) and again in the U.S. Coast Guard as USCGC Southwind (WAGB-280).

USS KIDD (DD-661) Fletcher class in service 1943 to 1964.  On April 11, 1945, during the battle for Okinawa, the U.S.S. KIDD suffered a kamikaze attack when a Japanese pilot targeted and crashed into her, killing 38 crewmen.  Now a museum ship in Baton Rouge, LA.  In 1986 Kidd was designated a National Historic Landmark, as the best-preserved World War II destroyer of her class.
