thecandyman0838 Posted April 10, 2018 Share #1 Posted April 10, 2018 Hello, I bought these nose art pictures yesterday at an antique store.(probably paid more then they are worth but they were too cool to walk away from) I also bought a ww1 cartridge belt and a pair of near mint m1936 suspenders. One of the women working there said that everything I bought was here fathers, but I didn't ask if the photographs were his, but I feel confident they were also his. She said he enlisted before the war in the air corps. 2 of the pictures show the "defenseless virgin" and when you google c-47 nose art, the same plane is the first image you see, however if you google defenseless virgin, one of the images matches the 2 I have. Are all of these original images? Where they sold in number at airbases, or are these images that a G.I. would have taken himself? A lot of the pictures I have have a number stamped on the back, some don't. Are these part of a set? I will post more pictures

JeeBee37 Posted May 9, 2018 Share #4 Posted May 9, 2018 Here are the last 2. Thank you for any information. Looks like the line-up of P-40 fighters is from a S-W Pacific unit: White tails & wing leading-edges band. Could be from the 49thFG...
