schmooser Posted April 9, 2018 Share #1 Posted April 9, 2018 Found these yesterday in hte same booth in a local shop. No maker's mark, but Kingston? The handle "US MARINE CORPS" was erased somehow on the top knife. The bottom knife has blackended blades and springs. the liners also seem to maybe be a different material? sactroop Posted April 9, 2018 Share #3 Posted April 9, 2018 IMHO, all the "United States Marine Corps" marked knives were made by Kingston. Are both your can openers only marked "CanOpener"?
easterneagle87 Posted April 9, 2018 Share #4 Posted April 9, 2018 Am a fan of this style of knives. Whether it be Camillus (preferred), Imperial and/or Kingston. Some of this "style" of pocket knife were made with "blank" side. Unless it looks like the USMC was deliberately ground off, then it was just made with blank sides. schmooser Posted April 9, 2018 Author Share #5 Posted April 9, 2018 IMHO, all the "United States Marine Corps" marked knives were made by Kingston. Are both your can openers only marked "CanOpener"?The top is not marked, the bottom is can opener / pat pend. The top example had the USMC logo rubbed off, there is a faint outline of the U still visible.
Catfishcraig Posted April 9, 2018 Share #6 Posted April 9, 2018 IMHO, all the "United States Marine Corps" marked knives were made by Kingston. Are both your can openers only marked "CanOpener"? I thought that Imperial made one with the blade marked at the bottom?
schmooser Posted April 9, 2018 Author Share #7 Posted April 9, 2018 I need to get the latest reference book. My military references are buried in storage boxes in the garage.

schmooser Posted April 15, 2018 Author Share #10 Posted April 15, 2018 I saw a brass-liner sterile knife today with no ID on the handles, fully checkered. Didnt buy it as the bail was missing and the blade was trashed, plus it was listed at $40.00. Every MIL-K I have seen, except the smooth- handled type has either US, USN, or the USMC logo. Are there examples of knives with no handle marking?
