kilgarvan Posted April 9, 2018 Share #1 Posted April 9, 2018 Hello all, I recently picked up a nice 1942 dated porcelain canteen with a 1942 dated cover. To complete this set, should I be looking for an enamel cup? How rare / expensive are these to find? Thanks!

kilgarvan Posted April 11, 2018 Author Share #8 Posted April 11, 2018 So......in trying to complete this set, would I be "settling" for a nice regular 42 cup? Leave as is, no cup? Thoughts?

oldabewla Posted April 12, 2018 Share #10 Posted April 12, 2018 They made the 1942 LF&C cups both in enamel and the tin coated finishes. The way to tell the real black enamel 1942 LF&C cups is the back bracket on the cup, that were the handle is attached to is spot weld to the cups body on the back. On the tin coated 1942 LF&C cup the back bracket were the handle is attached to is rivet to the cup. This is the best way to tell if it's a real cup but faked to pass as real enamel cup.
