I found this at the swap meet today. It is missing the data tag and I know nothing of radio gear any way. It had that WW 2 look to it and when I went to crank the handle my other hand was over the L-1 L-2 connectors and it gave me a jolt so I bought it. After I got home I opened it up and say the wiring paper in the back. The batteries are dated 1947. I went on line to find out what it goes to and found all the things I am missing...missing lots of stuff. From what I gather this goes with mobile radios like the SCR-178, 284, 299, 608, 609, 610, 628 and a host of other radios.

So what I haven't figured out is this. If this unit is supposed to give you distance from your radio in the event the your position has been figured out and mortar rounds are paying you a visit how far away can you really get from your radio?
