muddyboots Posted April 5, 2018 Share #1 Posted April 5, 2018 This vet enlisted in 1939 and served all the way through the war. He was first attached to the 3rd Defense Battalion who was sent to Midway Island and then to Pearl Harbor where he witnessed the Pearl Harbor attack and then the 3rd was transferred to Johnson Island and was there till the 3rd was moved out. He then was attached to the 12th Defense Battalion which was at Cape Gloucester and Peleliu where he stayed until he was shipped out in July 1945. I cant wait to order his file.
