stratasfan Posted April 5, 2018 Share #1 Posted April 5, 2018 Hi! I have this picture, unidentified, and have wanted to post it for ages now! Any help with that pin and patch? Also, what is that odd shirt-front that looks more like a sailor? Would you guess this is Korea or WWII? Thanks for any thoughts! doyler Posted April 5, 2018 Share #2 Posted April 5, 2018 WW2 photo Insignia for China Burma India and wears one on cap as well Shirt looks like an tan chino/tropical shirt of the cotton twill material.Appears its a gas flap model.shirts had these flaps that buttoned across the front(from the inside) as a special feature for anti gas exposure.often these were removed by the wearer. I should add this is listed as the shirt, cotton,Khaki,Special in the Quartermaster catalog as I recall. Being a "Special" as its modified from the standard shirt by having the added flap and gussets at the cuff for gas protection.
gauthieb3sxz Posted April 5, 2018 Share #3 Posted April 5, 2018 I think that might be one of the patches that has three snaps on the back to fasten to the shirt.
