35th Div. Observer Patch Insignia on Coat Sleeve

Friend of mine showed me an overcoat he had recently picked up. Sergeant rank with inverted green triangle under the chevron. Some time ago, WWI nerd had written about that little patch, but was unable to come up with a conclusive ID. Friend was told "scout." Anything new out there as to possible ID? in 35th Div. triangle was used to designate observer, square scout, and circle sniper. This was for personnel in the Regimental intelligence section. These symbols are a lift from period Coiast artillery specialty ratings
