hirsca Posted March 31, 2018 Share #1 Posted March 31, 2018 Estate sale find. Warren Leather Goods Co. 1917 G.W.S. inspector's initials. If ever used, it wasn't used much. Supple leather, does not look like it ever had and any dressing applied. I'd like to know if it is a scarce maker or not and an approximate value. I can send more pictures if needed. Thanks in advance, Al.

GWS Posted March 31, 2018 Share #3 Posted March 31, 2018 Funny, I don't remember inspecting that particular holster, but it was so long ago! Sorry, just couldn't resist! On a bit more serious note, excellent condition M-1916. It does look a bit dry though, a very, very light application of something like Properts neutral boot creme wouldn't hurt it at all, but that's entirely up to you. I have seen other Warren holsters of the period, so I don't believe they are one of the rarer manufacturers. Still, a very nice '17 dated holster. Value, I'd say $ 90-$130. Your mileage may vary! GWS Posted April 1, 2018 Share #5 Posted April 1, 2018 Thanks GWS. Any relation to the inspector of the holster--------------or is it really You!!!!!!!!??????? Yes, it's really me!! Sorry, no relation to the actual inspector though! There's a list of WW1 M-1916 holster manufacturers in the Reference section that was last updated in 2016 by Charlie Flick, interesting read and talks a bit about rarity of some of the manufacturers. Worth a look.
