Marchville1918 Posted March 31, 2018 Author Share #5 Posted March 31, 2018 The Bugler's name was P.A. Maxwell. The interesting thing about him is his age. He was born in 1902 and enlisted in Aug of 1918 so very young. Didn't lie about his age. His birth date shows in his records. Discharged in Oct 1919. According to the Marine muster rolls he qualified as MM (Marksman) on the Army range course for the year 1918. After training he was attached to the field music detachment and later to the sea going depot Parris Island and finally the barracks detachment at Portsmouth Navy Yard. I had no idea that the Marines would enlist men that young.
