USMC trunk group for Marine who served in Cuba. I believe this was called the sugar intervention 1918-1919

Nice. Your post might be more informative to your fellow collectors if you actually went in to some detail about your groupings (and I'm also

\referring to the others you have posted tonight -- great stuff, but just "teasing" pictures. No information as to the backround of these.).

I believe this intervention in Cuba was part of a long ongoing program of interventions that have become known as "The Banana Wars". The period of involvement was from the end of the Spanish American War 1898 through 1934. For the most part the Marines were sent in to restore order in Cuba, Panama, Honduras, Nicaragua, Mexico, Haiti and the Dominican Republic. At times Army troops were also involved and fire support was supplied by the U.S. Navy. The entire time frame provides an interesting and confusing part of our military history and a rather nice series of campaign medals highly prized to this day.

Looks like a very nice grouping and you dont often see complete sets from this time period. I would also like those more pics of what is in the trunk. Kevin
