Pick-of-the-Day in Shawnee Oklahoma

So, my wife and I were on our way back from decorating a grave and we decided to stop in at an antique store in Shawnee, Ok. When I saw the box I didn't expect to find anything inside it and if I did, I didn't expect it to be cheap enough for me to warrant a purchase. Then, I decided to pick up this small piece of ephemera as well. See the end of the post for the total price.

Yeah, I couldn't believe it either! The Purple Heart, other medals and ribbons were $12 and the menu was $4.

BILL THE PATCH

That is great, even if you don't collect medals I don't know if you do, but how could you pass something up like that. Congrats

Great find. I never had oyster dressing. It's probably one of those things that sound lousy to me but are actually pretty good.

I've never had it either. It might be good. They were given a heck of a selection on that Thanksgiving menu too. As long as I've lived in Oklahoma, I just recently tried calf-fries at Cattlemen's Steakhouse. They actually weren't all that bad, although I don't think I would order them again on purpose. They also have lamb-fries.

What a great find. I was never interested in ephemera when I began collecting 10 or so years ago but have made a complete 180. It's usually reasonably priced and much of it is really fascinating. I'll pass on the oyster dressing. I love seafood but oysters and dressing just don't mix in my humble opinion.
