I was looking at that same site and noticed that he left the Army in 1985 so my question is would he have gotten this style of tags with embossed lettering. These tags came out of Southern Florida.

Im thinking of calling the guys office and making contact if its him. The first set of numbers of the ssn# are from New York so there is a chance, if he was given this set before he left the Army it gives a date on the tags of 1985.

That may be the only, and I might say quick way of find out. I'd give it a shot. You'll have to let us know what you find out if you do.
