Picked these wings up today, wondering if anyone can pull up any information on him - S/SGT F. E. Wilhelm, no. 16028501. The wings are graduation wings, engraved To Mother S/SGT Pilot F. E. Wilhelm 7-4-42 ANNA ILL. 16028501.

Thanks Patrick. There is a good article on “Sargent pilots” on the National Museum of the U.S. Air Forces web site . 2500 enlisted men graduated as an E6 S/Sgt. pilot. I don’t believe many identifiable wings survive so I was very pleased to add this to my collection. Mike

A wonderful identified Enlisted Pilot wing. A real beauty! ( SSGT rank yes but for the record not "E-6" as those pay-grades did not exist in WWII) Congrats on your find! Bobgee
