EGA-DOG Posted March 24, 2018 Author Share #13 Posted March 24, 2018 Sgt. O'Byrnes was discharged and reenlisted in 1921. He continued his service in the Dominican Republic until one day he accidentally shot himself in the abdomen with a .45 pistol. He was medically discharged less than a year later in 1924. He continued service with the VFW and DAV.
