kiaiokalewa Posted March 20, 2018 Share #1 Posted March 20, 2018 Earlier and in another topic thread (link below) a rarely seen and essentially unknown chapter of patch lore popped up. The U.S. Army and evidently a subsection of the U.S. Navy dabbled with Nuclear weapons on a rather small scale. Their deployment was by ground troops and within a hair raising kill radius of only several miles. If interested in learning more about this chapter of U.S. Army history just read the attached link below. http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/306153-1st-brigade The patch itself is not only unique of being from an obscure unit but also that it is a rare example of a Korean manufactured patch of higher quality than usual. When the shirt arrived I was impressed by the fact that it was primarily a fully embroidered patch. Typically this is not the case and embroidery work from this time frame is terrible or beautiful (depending on how you view it) but the point is here's a good look at a rare operation, its history, this particular units insignia and if you check out the link above a chance to see it still on a uniform. Now that's rare. A Hui Hou!
kiaiokalewa Posted March 20, 2018 Author Share #2 Posted March 20, 2018 Here are some examples of the same patch also made in Korea. The quality difference is clearly evident. It is interesting though that all three examples sport a red cloth base material in the 7th Division insignia in center.
