CLEANING A VN SOUVENIR JACKET

I was helping to clean out a house yesterday and found a souvenir jacket made from a poncho liner. The jacket is dirty from storage and it looks like some of the silk is discolored from either water damage or rust from a hanger.

Any thoughts on the best way to clean the jacket? Woolite?

Thanks!

Those are super-delicate. Not just the embroidery, but the stitching holding the jacket together, as it's thin nylon with the fill material.

I would leave it as-is, as I've seen them disintegrate in water.

Also, a LOT of repros made - and still being made - so would be good to see some pics for comparison.

Hey Blacksmith, thanks for the response. After looking at the jacket again, I think you're right, less is better. Right now, I am just going to air it out. The stains look like water damage, but it could also be animal.

Here are a few photos:

Not unusual to see these camo variants with this type interior wear and staining.

I would just leave it alone.
