502nd PIR Officer's Crossed Rifles- WWII Occupation

These two pieces are a recent acquisition for me. They are both German-made from the immediate post WWII era. These pieces were probably worn as a matched pair, but it is pretty obvious that they do not match. Both sets of rifles appear to be of the same pattern, but you can see the difference in the manner that the numbers were manufactured and their methods for attaching those numbers to the rifles.

 

I'm rather happy to add them to my collection of numbered airborne collar brass.
