KRIS FORD Posted April 16, 2018 Share #27 Posted April 16, 2018 Here's Steves's handiwork on my Gramp's old Ka-Bar..it was "theater modified" with a hammer handle and aluminum guard and pommel at Ford Motor Company in the 70's LOL..but lookin' proper now! Tall thin font USMC version. Screwed tang, peened pommel!

usmce4 Posted April 16, 2018 Share #30 Posted April 16, 2018 Good Job! -Curious, when it was taken apart, did anybody notice was the tang actually threaded and screwed to the pommel? Or was it just forced on then peened as some claim that was how they actually were done? Art
KRIS FORD Posted April 16, 2018 Share #31 Posted April 16, 2018 Art, it was broken, so we'll never know on this one..my grandfather brazed a piece of threaded rod to the tang when he fixed it back then.
