Cavalry pieces Indian wars?

Gents,  Bought a bunch of box lots this weekend.   Here are some pics.   I am hazarding a guess as Indian Wars Sword strap and Head harness piece?

I don't believe that's a sword strap but a strapped to have horses tethered together. This would have been used when troopers were dismounted and horses tethered and removed to the rear as a group. 15th Cav B Troop.

 

Nice original piece used in the PI, Cuba or Mexico in 1916.

It's called a "link strap". Used as said above.

WWI era link strap for the 09 bridle

 

The other item is part of the 1912 Ambulance and express wagon harness. hard to tell but it looks like the hip pad for the wheel harness
