It certainly is interesting but I'm just not getting good vibes, as stupid as that sounds. Nothing really conscious, I just subconsciously don't like it for some reason I can't put my finger on.

The paint is old and discoloured and shows genuine wear. The chinstraps match the amount of wear on the shell , no smell of obvious painted yesterday. Looks a lot duller in hand ,
Thats all I can tell you IMHO.

Its seen some service , where and when who can tell but I can honestly say in my opinion that the paint is old

Thanks Cap

Ww2 period. I uncovered a very similar pattern from a swivel bail helmet that had about 5 or 6 layers of paint on top. The camo paint had red brown, white and black splotches of paint. Sold it to member HoovieDude and he may still have pics of the lid in question

I don't recall that one? Doesn't mean I didn't have, just that I don't recall it. Sucks getting senile :)  Do you still have pics?

And nice lid Dean.

I don't have pics, the find was around 2008-2009.

Stripped camo swivel bail with similar colors and maybe vesicant too.

The helmet also had its original chin straps.

The helmet I am referring to is not one of those depicted in Hoovie's collection, although the pattern is the same. Actually it is closer to what you just found; I venture to say your helmet is WWII era.

I seriously cannot recall the one you mention. Must be getting senile. But I do have two lids camo'd similar to the link Justin provided.

It has the late T1 ball and hook chinstraps as well , so
Could well be late WW2 like you said then a reissue for Korean War
