USMC-RECON0321

Wasn't really sure where to post this small find without having the "Latest Finds" category any longer, so thought I would post it here.

Just picked up this pile of stuff from a local sale. Most not really my focus except the helmet but it was kind of a take it all or leave it situation.

Here are some real basic pictures to give you an idea.

Looks like a nice batch and interesting as well. Some decent bayonets too

Thinking the CIB is Japanese or German made.

May post it up on the CIB topic

Congrats

Sorry, the helmet I will post later after some research. :D

This stuff came from a family of three brothers who all served in the airborne. The oldest very end of WWII with the 82nd, the middle Korea and the youngest between wars, late 50's. But they were all active for many years in associations, reunions and Honor Guards, so there may be some later items mixed in? Like pins or ribbons etc.

Thanks, when I get time I plan to post some of this stuff also, so stay tuned. Not sure when I'll have time (or a weekend off to do another show or not.)

I'd be interested in seeing how the shoulder strap is attached to the medic bag, at your convenience. Thanks!

I'll take some pictures for you. I was going to ask if that looked like an add on? I know the youngest brother said he was also active with scouts for many years so may have used it for that? Just a guess.

A superb array of stuff, that Nickle 16th Artillery disc, might be a German made one, when the 16th Artillery was in Germany in the 50s, 16th Armored Artillery Battalion to be exact, a component of the 2nd Armored Division. Would this have a German hallmark?

Here are some more pictures of the medic bag. Great condition, but it does look like the strap was an after thought!

Really nice condition bag. The two rings on either side of the bag were removed and the web strap riveted in place. Too bad about the rings, but still a really nice example.
