Toward the last days of the Second World War a book was compiled by United States Naval Intelligence in which they borrowed from the 1944 Special Edition of the "NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC MAGAZINE" the material they had on the U.S. Sea Services (U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Navy, etc.) showing the insignia, medals & uniforms .
