doyler Posted March 11, 2018 Share #1 Posted March 11, 2018 Surprised this hasn't ed up on the forum radar. Spoiler...ITS ON EBAY Couple hours left and over $200 Guess I'm not seeing it as original WW2 made. Any thoughts? Just interesting and not something that looks WW2 or WW2 materials.(to me) Plus the glue on the back would tend to "yellow" over the years I'm thinking. doyler Posted March 11, 2018 Author Share #3 Posted March 11, 2018 Appears to have needle track around edge and uniform removed but not hard to replicate. If real...English...German or PAKI.....
iron bender Posted March 12, 2018 Share #4 Posted March 12, 2018 I've got this one on my watch list. No plans on bidding but can't wait to hear what the pros here think.
Tonomachi Posted March 12, 2018 Share #5 Posted March 12, 2018 I too saw this on eBay and had a gut feeling that it wasn't right but am not sure.
ocsfollowme Posted March 12, 2018 Share #6 Posted March 12, 2018 When the seller makes bidding private and does not offer returns...... always do a search for the seller on the forum. averoantiques is known for some past bogus items and put togethers Lots of people have said that they would not feel comfortable with items from averoantiques. So buyer BEWARE!!! http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/223967-completely-bogus-8th-af-colonels-ike-jacket-on-ebay/?hl=averoantiques
BILL THE PATCH Posted March 12, 2018 Share #7 Posted March 12, 2018 I was looking at this patch also, to me the red white and blue looks ribbed to me, just like Pakistan made. Sent from my XT1031 using Tapatalk
z19 Posted March 12, 2018 Share #8 Posted March 12, 2018 I've been known too take a chance on an obscure cool piece as quick as anybody, but this would not be for me. Kinda looks like those nice quality repro Brit made squadron patches with some Paki bullion work thrown on top. This is the type of piece that an Airborne collector just wants to be real, whether it is or not. Alex
iron bender Posted March 12, 2018 Share #9 Posted March 12, 2018 I have to ask, wouldn't the final bid price for this be low if original at $230? We're seeing WW2 infantry division variations selling for $350 on ebay currently. Seems to me if this were a legit 506th piece, it would have sold for double that price. At least

Just posted this for discussion to get opinions with out the sales history to see what others thought solely considering the item. I didnt care for it from the first time I saw the picture and didnt look at seller or other items til later.
