FR: Used by some Army reservists from the late 1940s through 1962

State Geographical Codes were used as the first two numbers of an Army or Air Force enlisted service number to indicate where a soldier had entered the U.S. military.

16: Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin

I did not know .. Thank you for the new information. Sykora is a Czechoslovakian surname - the big community is in Illinois. Perfect.

Thank you

Lubos
